Really nice backpack for traveling although if you wanted to use it for photography the whole thing is padded. The only thing I would say is it’s a little bit heavy if it were a bit later that would be fantastic for traveling. But it fits nicely it looks great and it’s very functional I love the top pocket and the access from the sides.I've been a fan of Peak Design from the days that they were kickstarting all of their projects. I bought every single one of their products including the entire travel system but with the exception of the first messenger bag that they released, all of their bags have been sitting in my closet hardly getting used. This bag is no different. While the build quality is excellent and the improvements made to the bag are noticeable, I can't find this bag to be very useful for holding the following gear:Sony A7R3 with the 24-105G mountedSony 100-300mm G LensSony 16-35mm LensSurface Laptop 13iPad Pro 11"First, the horizontal camera and lens pocket system is flawed in that it is too rigid and requires the entire row to be at the same height. That means that if you have physically smaller lenses (the 16-35mm) than others, they are flying around and there is nothing really to protect them other than the divider padding. There is no padding at the ends of the rows (where the pockets open up to) so the lenses are potentially banging up against whatever is in the pockets. I tried setting up the rows where the bottom row held the 100-300mm lens and the row above it held the camera with the 24-105mm lens attached and the 16-35mm lens and just could not get the setup right in a way that I felt the gear was protected. Also, that combination required the camera to be inserted sideways rather than lens first due to the length of the lens. There was plenty of room width wise but the dividers only allow you to split the row in the specific places that Peak Design chose. Past those two rows, there aren't any other dividers so if you really want to carry another lens, it needs to be in the compartment above the rest of the camera gear which is segmented by the top divider from the second row. Overall, I could not find a way to hold a basic setup. Another issue that I found was that while the 100-300mm fit quite easily into the bottom row, it took away from the laptop pocket in the back. That meant that my ultra lightweight and thin Surface Laptop 13 could not fit comfortably in the laptop pocket which is also where there is an iPad pocket and a sunglass pocket. Once I shoved both the laptop and the iPad into their respective pockets, the zipper at the top was incredibly hard to close and the back of the backpack became very rigid.Once I filled out the pockets with other items like a charger, memory card case, a couple of cables and a couple of batteries, it was clear that there wasn't a lot of room left for other essentials such as over the ears headphones, a book or snacks. The bag was extremely rigid at that point and it was hard to open up any of the zippers including the zippers to the side pockets which is the only way to get the camera and gear out. I believe that the main reason for this is due to the gear system that they use. I have the 30L as well and experienced the same issues as I described above. It is just a bigger bag but it is still not segmented correctly. I found a lot more luck in bags such as the MindShift Gear Backlight 26L Backpack where I can fit a lot more gear more securely and still fit my 15" Macbook Pro and iPad without any issues.I don't know if I've ever been complimented on a bag before but I took this along for a trip where I intended to take a lot of photos and video and I had several people ask me what it was and if I liked it. Really nice looking and solid construction. The side zipper pockets do make it easy to access your camera gear and the folding dividers are no gimmick - they're perfect. I was able to snugly fit my Sony a7III with the kit lens, a DJI Mavic Pro 2 & controller, a DJI Osmo Pocket, and various chargers with ease. When traveling I dropped my headphones and chargers in the top latch pocket and there was still some space left. I used one of the included straps to hold my Manfrotto tripod tight to the side of the bag, with the legs in the side pocket. This worked pretty well despite feeling a little unwieldy. A deeper side pocket and a built-in strap solution might have made it more comfortable. The magnetic straps are also no gimmick - they really helped keep the bag nice and tidy, especially when using the luggage passthrough. The magnetic side pockets also kept smaller items inside without me worrying about them falling out. I found the rotating straps to make the bag more comfortable to carry and the chest strap was useful while going on hikes. The top zipper pocket can fit your laptop, keys, phone, etc. but I really wish there were more space. Typically I travel with an older model Tortuga Air and I enjoy being able to throw all my chargers, wallet, keys, etc. in one pocket. That one also had a dedicated pocket for pens, a passport and various other items you'd want within reach. I had to divide these things into the top zipper pocket and the top latch pocket of the Peak Design bag, making it slightly less practical to use while traveling. I also really wish the zipper pocket zipped down the sides of the bag a little more. Even when the bag is empty it's really difficult to pull things out of the top. It gets worse when you actually have more stuff in there giving you less room (e.g. you're digging for your passport with your laptop eating up some of the space). It slowed me down a little when going through security at airports but it's manageable.Overall it's a perfect bag to hold your camera gear but could be a bit better with access and storage space for small items you need to keep organized.Delivered on time and met my expectations in terms of quality. I bought a camera backpack and a tripod from this company through Amazon and am very satisfied with them. This bag is incredible, 100% worth the price, yet another winner by Peak DesignI didn't like this backpack at all. The side flaps don't open completely, so its very difficult to use while its on the shoulder. On the ground the flaps open the wrong way. I have to keep the shoulder straps on the ground! The storage on the side panels is poorly organized as well.I owned the V1 of this bag briefly and loved the organization of it, but the straps were terribly uncomfortable! Supposedly, the V2 straps were improved. Nope. They are still very uncomfortable! I can't imagine wearing this bag all day fully loaded!I bought this bag last week just before traveling to Moab to shoot. For the price, I was expecting it to be comfortable, functional and able to accommodate all of my gear - and it satisfied all those expectations 100%. What blew my mind was its durability and toughness. Part of our trip included some mud. The red mud in Moab stains everything. It ruined everything I was wearing and it's even hard to get off your skin. Needless to say, my bag was covered in it. To make things worse, I let it dry on the bag and waited 4 days before washing it. When I got home, I threw it in the bathtub, sprayed it down and scrubbed it with a soft brush. I was amazed. Completely spotless and still dry inside! Way to go Peak Design, amazing product. If you own a 17" XPS and are looking at this bag, then this might be useful for you.The good:Here is, unbeliveably, the entirety of what I carry in it:- 17" Dell XPS 9710, barely (read below for more info)- 12.9" iPad Pro with the pencil- MX Keys TKL- G Pro X Superlight- A foldable laptop stand- Mouse pad- WH-1000XM3's in their carrying case- A thermos- A lunchbox- All the assorted adapters and cables required for the aboveAnd it still has room to spare for smaller items like disks, batteries, etc. The modularity is incredible, the fact that all of this fits into a 20L backpack is kind of mindblowing. The build quality is incredible, and it's very comfortable to carry. The bad:The straps are terrible. When fully loaded, they loosen. When you take the bag off your back, they loosen. They cannot hold their adjustment at all. I stapled them still, now the bag is basically perfect - but still, who are they kidding at this price? The product color does *not* match the image. The light grey color is slightly darker and has a bit of a greenish-bluish tint that actually does not show up in pictures even if I take it myself. It's a really strange quirk of the material, I guess they didn't want to color correct every photo they had of it? Either way, if you want the light grey model, don't. Get the dark grey one instead, trust me.The light metal hardware for the lid clamp scratches very easily. Again, I recommend getting a darker color. One thing that really annoys me is the adjustable laptop pocket depth - yes it safely fits the XPS 17", a large laptop but one that does fit the listed size limits. The problem is that it's for a really bad reason. the laptop pocket adjuster adds unnecessary thickness, whereas without it, it would fit pretty much perfectly. The fact that an ipad pro fits alongside it is frankly incredible, but even so, I would love to just not have that adjuster there. My main issue with this is why sacrifice the capacity for a feature nobody is really going to use? Conclusion:It is tremendously small considering just how much gear I can store in it. For anyone that has even a 16" macbook or something, and doesn't pack it to the brim, it works. After a month of use though, I sadly can't recommend anyone buy this due to the very poor strap design. Yes, you can make it work extremely well, but there are other bags at this price that don't have such awful straps.Received wrong color item for 1st time, defect item for 2nd time. The end i spend almost 2 months tor receive a proper item and wasted alot of time for return, refund and coordinate with Amazon as most of them are not professional.Peak design always the bestrien à dire tout simplement génialPeakDesignを愛用し始め、本製品が7個目。かなり作りがしっかりしており、止水ファスナーであることからも内部の保全は万全だと思う。既に使っている同メーカのテクポーチなどがちょうどよく収まり、いわゆるポケットに細々入れるバッグから、ポーチ等に入れてそれをバッグに入れる、といった考えに基づく気がする。テクポーチもそうだが、使ってるうちに「こんな収納が?こんな機能が?」と気付きそうなバッグ。
